1. Basic structure of the nozzle:
 
Integrated nozzle and ink cartridge: This structure replaces the nozzle and ink cartridge together after the ink in the ink cartridge is used up. The advantage of this structure is tight integration and high reliability. The disadvantage is high cost
Separate nozzle and ink cartridge: When the ink is used up, the ink cartridge can be replaced separately. This relatively solves the cost problem of the first type, and the replacement cost is relatively low
 
Most of the commonly used printers on the market currently use a dual nozzle structure: a black nozzle and a color nozzle. In the ink cartridge, most of them are independent black ink, and the other three-color ink cartridges are integrated. There are also some products where each color ink cartridge is independent and can be replaced separately, which further reduces the printing cost.
 
2. Why does the nozzle get blocked?
 
Because the printer nozzle is not sealed tightly after normal printing or is left for a long time, the water evaporates excessively, causing the ink droplets to dry on the fine nozzles, making the ink unable to spray normally; usually manifested as frequent disconnection, color loss, blurred handwriting and other faults
 
The nozzle of the inkjet printer is blocked and can be roughly divided into two categories of cleaning: ① Software cleaning ② Manual cleaning
 
Software cleaning repair method:
Software cleaning is to use the print head cleaning function in the application tool of the printer driver to clean. Its advantages are simple and fast operation; the disadvantage is that the cleaning effect is not ideal
 
Precautions:
① Because there will be "air blockage" between the ink cartridge (such as sponge filling type) and the print head, a small amount of irregular disconnection will occur. At this time, there is no need to clean it repeatedly. After leaving it for a period of time, restart the machine and it can be used normally
 
② Avoid mixing inks. Do not rush to add newly purchased ink to the ink cartridge. First, use a clean disposable syringe to suck some ink and observe carefully in a bright place to see if there are any suspended matter in the ink. If there are suspended matter, do not mix them.
Then suck a little ink from the used ink cartridge and mix it with the newly purchased ink. After standing for 24 hours, observe again to see if the mixed ink has any chemical reaction. If there is a change (such as crystallization, etc.), it means that the compatibility of the two inks is not good. Do not mix them.
③ The cleaning method should generally not exceed three times. If the printer is not seriously blocked, it should be flushed within three times. If it still cannot be flushed after three times, it means that the blockage is serious. No matter how many times you clean it, it may not work, and it is useless to waste a lot of expensive ink. At this time, further treatment should be carried out according to the specific situation.
 
Manual cleaning and repair method:
 
1. Soaking method
 
Scope of application: The blockage is relatively light
 
Required tools: 95% alcohol, a clean cup and a metal container with a smooth bottom
 
Working principle: Use a medium-strength organic solvent to dissolve the ink particles one by one. Note that you must use 95% organic solvent alcohol, otherwise it will be counterproductive
 
Solution: First find a metal container with a smooth bottom, add a little 95% organic solvent alcohol to the container, and the alcohol should just cover the stainless steel edge of the print head (be careful not to let the PCB board contact the alcohol)
 
The soaking time generally ranges from 2 hours to 4 days. Its advantages are good cleaning effect and not easy to cause physical damage to the print head; its disadvantages are that it takes a long time and it is difficult to solve the urgent needs of users.
 
2. Pressure cleaning method
 
Scope of application: The obstruction is serious
 
Required tools: 95% alcohol, a clean cup, a disposable injector, a disposable infusion set
 
Working principle: Use the pressure generated by the siphon effect of the syringe to inject alcohol, an organic solvent, into the print head, so as to achieve the effect of cleaning the dried nozzle
 
Solution method: Use the plastic tube or needle part of a disposable infusion set to make the interface between the syringe and the ink supply port of the print head (the joint must be tight). After the interface is made, place the head of the print head in 95% organic solvent alcohol, and inhale the alcohol (note that it can only be inhaled) into the syringe needle through the print head. Inhale several times
 
Its advantage is good cleaning effect. Generally, print heads with heavy obstruction can be cleaned by this method. It is worth noting that when inhaling alcohol, the force should be even and coherent, and generally no physical damage will be caused.
